Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books for People Who Like Richelle Mead!

Today is Tuesday and that means one step closer to Friday! However, more importantly it means its time for Top Ten Tuesday a weekly meme hosted by the wonderful bloggers at The Broke and The Bookish (LOL get it? I used to watch that soap with my grandma). Go check out their page to participate and see other nifty lists. So, today's theme is top ten books for people who like X author. It was a tough decision between Richelle Mead and J.K. Rowling. I went with Richelle because no one comes close to Ms. Rowling! A close second, I love her books almost as much as Harry Potter. Without further ado, my list...

10.) The Twiligh Saga by Stepahie Meyers

Twi-hate all you want, but I loved them! They aren't kick butt like the Vampire Academy, as smart as Bloodlines, or as sexy as the Georgina Kincaid series. They are about vampires and have one of the most epic love traingles ever. What can I say? I'm a sucker for thos love traingles.

9.) The Night World series by L.J. Smith
This is a series by the lady who wrote The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Cirle. If you aren't a fan of those still give this one a try. This series makes the list because it has vamps in it. However, there is so much more and a very unique world is created.

8.) The Covenant series by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Despite not having anything to do with vamps this series made the cut. There is an amazing love triangle and is just a purely awesome series.

7.) Thirst by Christopher Pike
This is one of the most unique YA vampire books I have ever read. If you want a different take on the vamp situation that is a little more...cut throat try this series. When it comes to Rose and Alisa I would pay to see that fight.

6.) The Night Huntress novels by Jeaniene Frost
If you are 18+ and liked the steaminess of Vampire Academy, but wish it had a little more try this series. She is kind of like a female Blade...part vamp and out to kill them all.

5.) The Watchers series by Veronica Wolff
This has vampires and a few other simialities and is a differenc YA book. Possibly not really YA, some of the characters are in their late teens, but I would classify it more as early college age. Imagine if the participants in the Hunger Games were super charged girls, the game makers vamps, and the prize life long servitude.

4.)The Hunt by Andrew Fukuda
If you are on the look out for a new take on the same old vamp story check this out. Not only is it a futuristic world where vampires have hunted the humans to near extinction, but it is told from a male pov.

3.) The Castor Chronicles by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl
This series has only one thing in common with Richelle's books and that is an amazing story. If you like southern gothic paranormal witches and such you should read this series and prepare for the upcoming movie!

2.) The Chicagoland Vampires series by Chloe Neill
I love this series! I listen to it on audiobook over and over. It has an amazingly kick-butt-swork-wielding-smart-mouthed heroine, and to top it off an amazing narrator!

1.) The Demon Trapper's series by Jana Oliver
The heroines in all of Richelle's series are absolutely amazing, courageous, and strong. Usually they also have a terrible flaw to go with those strengths. Riley Blackthorne would fit right in with them. She is tied as my favorite heroine along with Rose Hathaway. If you haven't read this series...DO IT NOW!

***What would my list be without doing honorable mentions
~ The Morganville Vampires by Rachel Caine
~ The Gardella Vampire Chronicle by Colleen Gleason
~ The Horngate Witches by Diana Pharaoh Francis
~ Jolie Wilkins series by H.P. Mallory
~ Black Dust Mambo by Adrian Phoenix
