Top Ten Tuesday

Tuesday is my favorite blogging day! This means that I get share my Top Ten list and read the inner workings or other lists. The amazing blog of The Broke and The Bookish post a list topic every week and all of the cool blogs write on this topic and link back. This week's topic is Top Ten Most Vivid Worlds/Settings in Books. This one has me excited and I can't wait to share!

10.) Eden by Keary Taylor

In this post-apocalyptic adventure cybernetics have taken over the world. They are zombie like and truly scary. This world sucked me in and I felt like I was on the run with them.

9.) The Modern Faerie Tales by Holly Black

Tithe houses one of my favorite worlds! This was my first dark faerie world and I was fascinated. I find it kind of dry, but in a creepy and intriguing way.

8.) The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

I love this complex and wholly imaginative world of shadowhunters and downworlders. When reading this the characters truly make the world. I've been avidly following the casting for the movie and I'm loving it!

7.) The Castor Chronicles by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohls

The Southern Gothic setting of this book truly sucks you in. Add to this the characters (even the bad ones you can't help but love) add to the story. I can't wait to see this world come to life in the upcoming movie.

6.) Divergent by Veronica Roth

This world easily imaginable and a relatable character list lets readers imagine they are along for the ride.

5.) Daughter of Smoke and Bone By Lani Taylor

This is one of my favorites to put on the list. Daughter of Smoke and Bone is original and breathtakingly written. If you want a vivid world mixed with characters unheard of READ this book! The audiobook is also beautifully done.

4.) Last Survivors by Susan Beth Pfeffer

I must admit that this is a book and series that stayed long with me after I read it. This post-apocalyptic world is too easily imagined. Perhaps not the way it comes about, but the everyday things people have to deal with. I still bring this book up in conversation about once a month.

3.) Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr

This is in my top 5 favorite series ever and though I love the characters the world makes this series. The vivid and complex lore that Ms. Marr has came up with completely involves readers in the romance, action, and intrigue of the series.

2.) The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien

The book series as well as the movie trilogy suck people of all ages in. It shouldn't come as a surprise that this made this list. If you haven't read it or watched the movies you are truly missing out on a one of a kind classic.

1.) Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

Really how could this not take the number 1 spot? I practically grew up in the world of Harry Potter. There is even a World of Harry Potter and I can't wait to go. Now, two months away from my 23rd birthday I have finally completed my journey into the world of Harry Potter. What am I talking about? Thanks to HBO GO I watched the last two Harry Potter movies(FINALLY!). This is a world that becomes a part of readers and having finally finished it, I can't wait to start over again.

***Honorable Mentions***
~The Chicagoland Vampires by Chloe Neill
~The Splendor Falls by Rosemary Clement-Moore
~Walk of the Spirits by Richie Tankersly Cusick
