Top Ten Tuesday 10/16

Did you know...that today is Tuesday? Sure is! That means it's Top Ten Tuesday time! The amazing bloggers at The Broke and The Bookish host this weekly meme and all the awesome people who participate link back to their blog to share their lists with each other. This week's topic is Top Ten Favorite Authors in X Genre. I chose to do my favorite authors of Adult Supernatural & Urban Fantasy. I'm cheating and mixing them together along with choosing a particular series the author has written.

10.) Adrian Phoenix
I love what Adrian Phoenix has done with this series. Voodoo is seriously underused in the supernatural genre and she brings it out in full force. The best thing though, is that she uses actual practices and terms.

9.) Rachel Vincent
Rachel Vincent is an amazing author as evidenced by her YA Soul Screamers series. Her talents also extend to adult series. Shifters are explored in full force and I can't wait to continue with whatever she writes.

8.) Sandy Williams
I really like what Sandy Williams has done in creating an unique world of Faerie and combining it with a heroine that is in college. The story is more about finding out who the heroine is and what she can do than the love triangle (which is excellent).

7.) Jeaniene Frost
This is more of a romance series, but I couldn't pass up naming Jeaniene Frost as one of the top writers for the totally independent and kick butt characters that she develops.

6.) Molly Harper
Every series that Molly Harper has written is absolutely hilarious! I love an author that can successfully combine supernatural, romance, and comedy.

5.) Amanda Carlson
This is the first book that I've read from Amanda and I loved it! Once again I can't pass up a heroine who can take care of herself.

4.) H.P. Mallory

This is just a good series. I can't explain it any better than that. Your normal, average, everyday girl who can see auras discovers she is a big and powerful witch. You then have a hot warlock and smokin' vampire compete for her affections.

3.) Karen Marie Moning

Oftentimes faeries are seen as "kiddie" and "good". Ms. Moning takes this notion and blows it out of the water. Here your everyday lovable Tinker Bells come equipped with fangs, ghastly appearances, and are destroying/eating the human world.

2.) Chloe Neill

There is no adult series that I enjoy as much as Chloe Neill's Chicagoland Vampires. It has everything! Merit is a kick butt heroine, loyal, a smart alek, independent, this book has romance, serious moments, and is full of small comedic events. (the audiobooks are especially good and have great narrators)

1.) Diana Pharaoh Francis
This isn't your typical book. Ms. Francis brings a new take on every supernatural creature imaginable. She takes first place for originality. I can't recommend this book enough.

Thanks for stopping by! Feel free to leave me a comment telling me what you thought and a link to your Top Ten so I can check it out!
