Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and The Bookish.
Halloween is just around the corner! This time of year is an absolute favorite of mine and I am so excited for TTT! Today's Top Ten Tuesday is Books To Get In The Halloween Spirit!
10.) Mysterious Creatures by Time-Life Books
I bought this book at a discount store when I was really young and have loved it ever since. There are amazing pictures and myths about all sorts of creatures in here.
9.) Past Midnight by Mara Purnhagen
Just the cover makes me think of Halloween. The mist and brambles look fallish. Ghosts always make me think of this time of year and this is one of the few ghost books I have read.
8.) Department 19 by Will Hill
If you haven't read this book you are missing out! Will Hill mixes not only government conspiracy, but all sorts of creatures to form one of the most unique supernatural books I've ever read. (don't let the cover throw you off)
7.) Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
This just personifies good natured, young-adult, Halloween fun for me. The combination of the supernatural and the idea of wearing sweaters (living in hot as hell Texas I never get to wear them) reminds me of what Halloween is supposed to be like.
6.) The Good Luck Book: An A-Z Guide To Symbols and Charms by Bill Harris
This is probably one of the most battered and bruised books in my house. It is literally an A-Z guide on things different cultures considered to be lucky/unlucky.
5.) Witch Child by Celia Rees
This book reminds me of Witch of Blackbird Pond! Witches and Halloween go hand in hand and this is one of my favorites.
4.) Walk of the Spirits by Richie Tankersley Cusick
This book is the perfect blend of history and gothic intrigue.
3.) The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare
This is definitely one of my favorite books from school. The combination of witchcraft, colonial times, and accusations fits in perfectly with Halloween.
2.) Tithe by Holly Black
I'm not really sure why this book puts me in the Halloween mood so much. This was my first "evil" faerie book. Maybe its just that things I used to consider innocent are evil in here.
1.) Shadow Mirror by Richie Tankersley Cusick

1.) Shadow Mirror by Richie Tankersley Cusick
This is the sequel to Walk of the Spirits. Not only is it better, but signigicantly scarier! I was on pins and needles by the end of this book and then there were tears.
***Honorable Mentions***
~Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl
~The Splendor Falls by Rosemary Clement-Moore
~Wicked by Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguie
