Favorite Faerie Books!

The Topic of the Month is FAERIES! Books about faeries are my absolute favorites. I love them more than contemporary, werewolf, vampire, witch, etc. In my opinion they are the ultimate magical creature. So, I thought I would share a list of my favorite books starring these awesome supernatural creatures.

Tithe: A Modern Faerie Tale by Holly Black
(I like this cover the best)

I absolutely love this book! It was my first read where faeries were bad...really bad. There is a companion novel called Valiant based in this same world and a sequel called Ironside! This remains one of my most favorite books ever and I read it at least twice a year.

Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr

This is an amazing series and one that I go back to over and over again. I am a complete fan girl when it comes to Wicked Lovely. I have this in hardcover, paperback, kindle, and audiobook. Wicked Lovely is the title of and first book in the series and the rest are Ink Exchange, Fragile Eternity, Radiant Shadows, and Darkest Mercy. These are unique because every other book follows the original characters of Wicked Lovely. Ink Exchange and Radiant Shadows centers on characters met or mentioned in the previous book.

Wondrous Strange by Lesley Livingston

This book takes on Shakespeare and A Midsummer Night's Dream. The second book in the trilogy is called Darklight and the third is Tempestuous. This series is a good break from the "darker" faerie worlds of Tithe and Wicked Lovely.

Wings by Aprilynne Pike

Wings follows a young girl and her romantic interests in the world of faerie. This is a lighter and younger book than the previous series mentioned. The next installments are Spells, Illusions, and Destined.

The Iron King by Julie Kagawa

You can't talk about faerie books and not mention Julie Kagawa's The Iron Fey series and it's epic love triangle. If you haven't already read this series and are looking for a great love triangle and a book that blends faerie lore with modern day you should read this. The series in order: The Iron King, The Iron Daughter, The Iron Queen, and The Iron Knight. There are also two eNovellas available: Winter's Passage that takes place between Iron King and Daughter and Summer's Crossing between Queen and Knight.

Bitter Frost by Kailin Gow

Bitter Frost is the start of a series that keeps be guessing by throwing PLAUSIBLE twists and turns into the story. If you are looking for something a little out of the ordinary in the faerie world check this series out: Bitter Frost, Forever Frost, Silver Frost, Frost Kisses, Midnight Frost, Frost Fire and novellas The Wolf Fey, The Fairy Letters, The Red Wolf, and Spring Frost.

Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning
(adult series)
I had to include the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning. This is an amazing take on faeries that has adult characters as the main focus. Let me tell you, I never knew faeries could be so hot! I read the first three in this series back to back and couldn't get enough of the constant action and man candy! Read them in this order: Darkfever, Bloodfever, Faefever, Dreamfever, and Shadowfever.

***These are just a few of my favorite faerie series. If you have any suggestions for me leave a recommendation in the comments section!
